What a thought!

I really enjoyed this whole class. I am hoping that I will be able to use alot of these web tools. I really enjoyed my blog. I would like to keep updating it and using it for the library. This was a great class for learning some new web tools. It was nice to see the uses and see what is out there to keep in touch with web stuff in the library. Everybodys blogs were all so different and fun to see. We as librarians need to keep up on technology and this was great. I hope that we get to do something like this again. Great job on the class Gals.

Wiki up!

This was interesting also. I think it is kinda of your opinion my opinion thing. But if set up right it could be a great way to do a book review and have patrons or staff put in their comments or if a library had an event then everybody could put their "2 cents" in about it. It would be a nice way to keep information updated about something that is going on or went on in the library.

how Del.icio.us!

I found del.icio.us very interesting. Kinda of like flicka but for keeping track of our websites. It would be very handy if your not at your usual computer and need to get to some of your favorite websites. I like the tagging idea, keeps is simple. This would come in handy in the library if you have sites that you use everyday.

I really had a lot of fun with YouTube. I am a big animal person so I looked at a lot of fun videos. This could be alot fun to do things around the library with.

Podcasts

I looked around a bit. I could see how you could maybe use them for bookreviews or maybe some kind of weekly or monthly update on library news. I didn't really find it all the exciting. Maybe I just need more time to mess with it.

Its the LibraryThing!

The LibraryThing is pretty cool. I just added a few books. I don't get read as much as like so I tried to pick some fun or new titles. I think this website could be very handy for library staff. It seems like a great way to find what other people are reading and think. The Suggestor is great. I know how it can be difficult sometimes to figure out similar authors to suggest to patrons. Generating some fun

Well I must say I had some fun with the generators. I really liked http://www.pichacks.com/, this one you get to take a picture and mess it up and makes cool designs out of the pictures. The hair mixer was a blast, http://www.hairmixer.com/, I had fun switching everybodies hair around. That one is a must try. There are just to many to put on here. I think some of the poster ones would be great for making things for the library.

Flickr'n

I love Flickr. That is the coolest thing. Taking pictures is great. What a way to show your pictures. All the tools they have are great. The mappr is pretty neat. That could make for great way to learn about different places visually. Flicr color pick is really neat. I must say I enjoyed the chia pet one. I put alot of seeds on peoples head to watch them grow. If you haven't tried it you need to. My very very favorite though was the trading cards. You can make some great things with that. I did make a trading card. I could make few of thoughs way to much fun.

This is the movie area. We think that we need to implement movie previewing. It is our duty as librarians to watch movies made from books. We think the need is high to give a our patrons a fair and balanced review of these movies. What kind of librarians would we be sending our patrons in blind not knowing what to expect and to remind them that the movie "Was based on the book". We've seen to many disappointed faces and the time has come to make a stand. Now if only we could get that big screen TV and comfortable couch.

Feed Me!

RSS Feeds seem like they could be a great resource. Fast and easy way to get the info you want. It is amazing what is out for feeding to. I could also be a great way for us as librarians to know when someone updates their blog without having to check each one everyday. You can subscribe to each others blogs and there is the new info in one place.

7 1/2 Habits to Learning: Easiest To Hardest

When I got done listening to the first lesson I printed off my contract and 7 1/2 habits list. I would have to say that the easiest habit for me is "Accept responsibilty for your own learning". I am the only one who can make the choice to better myself. I love to learn new things and being in a library you need to know what is new. I think the hardest thing for me is to "View problems as a challenge". I find that sometimes I think things are a big deal. I need stop and think about whatever the problem maybe before getting to excited about it and realize that hey I am going to learn something from it that is not just a problem that needs to be dealt with.
