I looked around a bit. I could see how you could maybe use them for bookreviews or maybe some kind of weekly or monthly update on library news. I didn't really find it all the exciting. Maybe I just need more time to mess with it.
I think if you're looking at podcasts from strictly a job-related angle, you're probably right. There's not a whole lot out there. But try looking at them from the perspective of your patrons who might be looking for audio or video content in areas that they're interested in. For example, I download a lot of podcasts for my mom who was an avid reader but now is a listener due to macular degeneration. I work at the Richland Co. library in Sidney. I love it. I also have returned to college and I am going back to get my bachelors. I have a great husband, and 3 (got new puppy) dogs and a cat who are my kids.
